LIGHT HOURS
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
Matthew 5:14-16
What is a “light hour”?
A Light Hour is any time you spend shining the light of Jesus in your community! As invested partners with the YMCA, we, as a church, are specifically tracking Light Hours served in partnership with them.
Our goal is to serve 2,000 Light Hours with the YMCA in 2026! Track your Light Hours using the button below.
Partner Together
God has planted Eastpoint Church right in the middle of our community and called us to reach as many people as possible by becoming an unavoidable presence in our community.
This year, we want to grow in how we engage our community by intentionally embracing opportunities through our local YMCAs. The Y is a natural partner- already gathering hundreds of people daily, and they've invited us to step in and serve.
By showing up and participating in these mission-driven initiatives, we have the opportunity to shine the light of Jesus!

Opportunities to Partner with the YMCA
Sports Coaching
Volunteer as a YMCA sports coach and become a positive mentor who instills key values like sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect in local youth. It's a powerful opportunity to provide a safe and fun environment where kids can develop skills, build confidence, and foster healthy habits that extend far beyond the playing field.
T.A.N.D.E.M.
TANDEM is serving a community for individuals diagnosed with Dementia/Alzheimer’s and their caregivers. Includes gentle and safe exercise therapy, music therapy, and art therapy, all of which can help to slow the progression of the disease.
Rock Steady Boxing
Rock Steady is a free program for anyone diagnosed with Parkinson’s or Parkinsonism. Volunteers suit up, move through exercise stations, and cheer on participants when the fight gets tough.
Reading Mentorship
Mentoring a child is more than teaching them to read — it’s helping them discover their worth and potential. Each moment of encouragement becomes sacred as God’s love flows through our patience, compassion, and joy.
